Normal Waste Collection On Presidents' Day

Waste collection (garbage and recycling) for residents on City waste services will occur as normal on Presidents' Day, Monday, February 20, 2017.

Acceptable recyclable items for the holiday week include paper, cardboard and glass containers as it is a Blue Week.

The Council Bluffs Recycling Center will be closed Monday, February 20, 2017 in observance of Presidents’ Day.

Council Bluffs Centennial Fire Bell Tower Nears Completion


The Council Bluffs Fire Department's original bell now hangs in the new, all-brick tower at Central Fire Station on the corner of 4th Street and Willow Avenue. As the project nears completion, a few steps remain including the tower's roof.

Immunization Changes Coming to next school Year 2017-18
