Honor Guard Unit

Duties & Responsibilities

The Council Bluffs Police Honor Guard detail is responsible for representing the Police Department at a variety of ceremonial events, including police officer memorials, award ceremonies, parades, and government activities requiring the "presentation and posting of colors."  The unit is comprised of 15 officers and supervisors from various divisions.

Upon request by the family, members of the Honor Guard may serve in a variety of roles that displays the respect of the Department to the fallen or retired officer and their family.  The Council Bluffs Police Honor Guard unit joins other Honor Guard units for specific official ceremonies.

The members of the Honor Guard are proud to represent the Council Bluffs Police Department.
